Congenital Cytomegaloviral Infection in Patient Misdiagnosed with Reve Syndrome

Abstract

|
We had experienced a case of congenital cytomegaloviral infection in patient who was diagnosed with Reye syndrome. As soon as he was delivered, was troubled with neonatal seizure. At his 7 months of age, he admitted in the hospital again because
of
seizure, then laboratory data showed the elevation of transaminase, and recovery was delayed. 6 months later, abrupt rise of transaminase was occured. We had checked sequential TORCH study, that revealed a rise of CMV-IgG titer. We recommend the
study
for CMV in patient who shows the hepatic dysfunction with neurologic abnormalities after birth.
